Another musician shares the flute and piccolo!

Welcome to another talented musician! Students really loved the beautiful, melodic sounds of the flute and piccolo!

Here's the group shot-everyone had lots of questions, and many said they are really considering joining band in middle school.

Mr.C jams on the piano-sharing instrument #3!

And then we decided to get a little groovy duet going:

Isn't music GREAT!? I use music to motivate myself, relax, cheer up, or dance! I am not sure about posting any awesome dance moves I have, but I just might to do it- if I can get a couple of volunteers to join me! Anyone up for it? Leave me a comment, or shoot me an email and you can join in the fun!

Basic Aid Training Rescue Breathing

Mrs. Banks and Mrs. Rumph stopped by the 4th grade classrooms for some training in rescue breathing. It is different from CPR, since it does not have chest compressions. The students each took a turn on the dummy doll and really learned an important skill! Thanks to the Red Cross for their training and to our Brown School PTO for buying the BAT books they buy each year for us!

Fun Fact!

DID YOU KNOW?
There are only forty-four sounds in the English language. And all of those forty-four sounds – every ending, blending, and diphthong – can be found in Goodnight Moon and Make Way for Ducklings and Charlotte’s Web.
So, grab a copy of one of these loveable stories and a friend, read it out loud and practice your reading! ;)

Interesting Speaker-Michelle Rhee

I had the pleasure of listening to Ms. Michelle Rhee-former Chancellor of D.C. Schools. I was able to hear her live at a speaker series I attended last night. She is really intelligent and has some interesting views on public education.
She really thinks outside the box.
