Biggest Reader Convocation

Rockin' it out!
A little Zumba time for the teachers in the kick off skit for this year's reading contest- entitled "The Biggest Reader." The kids LOVED it! And, I am sure the teachers did too! is starts the counting of minutes each students read with a balloon launch celebration at the end in May. Good luck to all!!!
So, crack those books open, and start counting those minutes!!! Maybe someday you can have socks as super cool as these! ;)

Matt from bikes and boards!

Some riding and boarding tips for our students. He described ways to stay safer on bicycles and skateboards. And, btw, did you know that you really can get a speeding ticket on a bicycle?!?!!

Enough said. I loved Matt's shirt!

Matt from Bikes & Boards gave the kids a super fabulous safety talk!

The kids learned about equipment, laws, and procedures! Thanks, Matt!!

Fire safety

As part of our Basic Aid Training- BAT- Fireman Werkamp came to give us some fire safety tips. Did you know it could be 600 degrees near the ceiling in a fire and only 100 degrees crawling on the ground?! Fascinating! Thanks, Mr. Werkamp!

We really learned a bunch about animals and farming! Thank you!

Agriculture Day at Cortland!

The kiddos loved seeing the animals (even if they did smell a little different!) and hearing about the milk industry, beekeeping and forestry techniques.
