Our visit to the IN state house!!!

From Student Scoop Reporter Maiya:
On Friday, my class went on a field trip to the State House in Indianapolis.
It was a lot of fun I really enjoyed every minute of it. I learned that it takes a lot of work to make a new law. I also learned that the governor has to agree. He can sign it or he can wait a week. I also learned that in the old days men and women had to cover their legs. So a man decided to write the constitution outside under a tree. Oh, that tree was famous. Until one day they had to tear the tree down. A school teacher asked if she could have the tree. So the people that were cutting it down gave it to her. She kept it in her garage. About five years ago the State House sent a man to get the tree out of that lady's garage. They did and they brought it back to the state house. Today it is used as a case to hold the constitution. I learned a lot on this trip about government. It helped me a lot because when I grow up I want to be a lawyer
